Recalling
I
One week had passed since the young boy had donated
three trees to the city hall to be planted in the park. In addition, he had one
more tree left to plant it personally in his neighborhood. “Why were they delaying the answer for so long?” - He thought while
he was observing the rainy day. It was winter, the perfect time to plant trees.
When he met with the personnel from the city hall, they all agreed to receive
his donation and keep in touch to agree what the best day to plant his tree in
his neighborhood could be.
The anxiety began to consume him. All he wanted to do
was to plant his tree, nothing more, nothing less. “If I had not been so upright, I would have planted my tree long time
ago”- He said to himself - "Maybe
I should just begin my own green revolution”. These people do not seem to
be concerned about the environment and nature. In the end, all they are doing
is just killing trees with their infamous prunes and watering the grass in
summer". His thoughts rapidly started to elaborate possible future
scenarios, trying to predict what could happen if in the middle of the misty
winter night, he planted the tree.
The poor kid was
disappointed. He wished to grow up and see the future when all his trees had
grown up, with their abundant foliages, giving refuge to the birds and casting large
shadows, allowing people to sit down beneath them. Also, one of his biggest
dreams was reforesting all the public park areas without any tree. “It
would be nice to see all those places full of trees, birds, life and people
enjoying the warm days of summer” he
used to think while he was riding his bicycle around for those empty places.
Time seemed to
pass quite rapidly. Soon the winter would end, and no one from the city hall
had contacted him yet.
"What should I do, mom?"- He asked to his beloved mother.
"I don´t know, son"- she tenderly replied.
Then, he finally decided to go out and play with his
trusty dog. He was lovely. He was a medium size dog with fluffy white hair and
a friendly expression in his eyes. Together, they had decided to go out and
stroll around the outside of the house to take a break from the entire
situation.
Suddenly, the boy saw something he had never seen
before: a forest. But this one was very
particular: It was not supposed to be where it was. For some reason it had
appeared in a place where there was nothing before. He was intrigued by this,
and decidedly began to walk inside it with his trusty companion into the
unknown. Quietly and slowly, they began to enter, and when they reached the center,
everything was quiet. There was no sound of leaves, wind or birds; it was a
calm space, a void. After a few moments of peace, they heard something. It was a deep elderly voice. He and his dog began to try to discover who or what was
making that sound. Both were desperately searching for something that could
lead them to it. They looked behind every tree they could see. However, they
did not find anything. Suddenly, the voice stopped as he had begun to feel
tired. A subtly feeling ran through his body, making him feel somnolent. He and
his dog sat under a tree which appeared to be the most ancient tree in the
entire forest. A keeper of wisdom. Suddenly, the birds began to sing a sweet
melody and he fell asleep.
II
In his dream, he found himself inside an empty room:
The walls were painted with a comfortable orange color which shone as a result
of the bright sunlight that entered through the only window of the room. In the
middle of this place, there was a white pot with a dying plant in it. He
immediately walked straight to it, and began to dig and take out the dirt in
order to transplant the plant and save it. Finally, when he was reaching the
bottom of the pot, a golden garlic clove and a luminous white ginger root
appeared in the middle of the dirt. He took them with his hands and immediately
he found himself immerse into another dream.
This time, he saw himself as an elderly woman. The
elderly woman was dressed with a black coat made of wool. She was living in a
mysterious cabin built of rocks. The roof of the cabin was covered with green
grass. The cabin was located in the outskirts of the town. Behind the cabin
there was a forest which had many different types of trees. All of them
appeared to be so alive. They were softly dancing with the warm wind of the
afternoon. In front of the cabin there was a road, the only road that connected
the town with the rest of the world. In this dream, all the travelers had to
walk this road in order to leave or enter the town. Outside the cabin there was
a man with a dirty white horse, waiting for something. Something very
particular and valuable: his mother had has asked him for a healing potion,
which was the reason for his presence at that place.
In the meantime, inside the cabin the elderly woman
was elaborating the potion. She smashed the garlic clove and the ginger root
and immediately poured them into a cooking pot with crystalline water. Finally,
she added some gemstones into the potion and put the cooking pot in the
fireplace and patiently waited until the water had boiled.
Then she poured the liquid into a transparent bottle
and went out her cabin to meet the man. She put the bottle in his hands.
The boy opened his eyes and slowly woke up from his
dream. A comfortable feeling ran through his body, a "felt sense"
related with life, the unknown and creativity. There was an implicit feeling,
much more than a sensation which led him to run out of the forest and go
directly to his house. Then, he took the tree he wanted to plant and went to
the park of his neighborhood and began to dig as fast as he could with the help
of his dog. Finally, the job was done.
He proudly watched the tree in its new home and the "felt sense" came
back again. But this time, he knew the meaning of it with more clarity:
“I am linked to
Nature, to Life, the Earth… Nature nourishes me and all of us. There is
something more beyond the eyesight, beyond the words. There is a profound
feeling in the forest that gives me awareness, aplomb and helps me to remember
an antique knowledge I have… I have a profound bond with the trees, precious
stones, grass and everything related with Mother Earth and her healing power
within me”.
He was proudly observing his work, when suddenly a thought
came to his mind: “I do not have time to
waste! I want to keep on planting trees all over the world and I cannot wait
for others to give me permission to do this! I will start my own green revolution!”
He was an upright person. In the end decided that the
right thing to do was not to keep on waiting for others to have permission to
do what he had always felt was right : Heal the Nature. And Nature
also includes Mankind. He had decided to listen to his embodied knowledge. He
was beginning to clarify his body wisdom.
This was just the beginning of his new lifetime
journey. Maybe for you, planting trees is just a meaningless activity,
nonetheless in the long term, it is fundamental for the new profound change and
experiences he was about to have. Rather, they are profound changes we all are
about to experience.
